The Crush starring Alicia Silverstone. I loved and love this movie. I love the equestrian style that runs within the story.The styling is so excellent. I love the cute boy that she crushes on so much she goes crazy. I love the horse.

Early registration is at 9am, last year we ranked #1 in Canada and #3 on the continent, but in this weather

I think we can all do A LOT better!

Animal prints have long been a popular style for many reasons. For one, they are generally expensive and considered rather exotic; hence they have been considered a symbol of wealth and status. Throughout history, kings and other high people have used animal print rugs and such as as sign of status just as mounted animals are kept as trophies. Animal print became popular for women in the United States in the late 1960's during the Hippie movement.

Today's history lesson: Bicycle racing and the cycling jersey

The first bicycle race is popularly held to have been a 1,200 meter race on the 31 May 1868 at the Parc de Saint-cloud, paris. It was won by expatriate Englishman James Moore who rode a wooden bicycle with iron tires.

A cycling jersey is a specialized jersey used for cycling. A jersey is important to the cyclist because it provides certain benefits. A cycling jersey is uniquely designed; it has a long cut in the back in order to accommodate the bent-over position of the cyclist. The pockets on the jersey are positioned on the back panel as front pockets usually have a tendency to spill. The zipper on the jersey is frequently made lengthy so that the cyclist can open up the jersey when he or she feel hot.

So, that is your history lesson for today from me to you. If you are curious whether or not we have vintage cycling threads. The answer : I am happy to say yes. We have jerseys and dead stock cycling caps.

He formed a company called the Lee Mercantile Company, in Salina, Kansas and then dedicated his life to the love of denim.

What got you started in vintage clothing?

It's hard to say the moment I got into Vintage per say... But my first Vintage business venture was about 5 years ago, I was 25 and I got a vendor spot on Davis Bay beach, spent the summer slanging Vintage as well as tie dyed Vintage slip dresses and hand made jewelry.. The booth also went to festivals it was titled after my favorite city of the moment as well as my favorite bar "La la Land"

What sets your shop apart?

I think what sets my shop apart is my eclectic taste from my travels. It's very L.A infused with Montreal, Mexico, Byron Bay and Euro flavor. I really like to mix styles to create something unique. It's a little hippie just like me but in a street wise fashion forward kinda way. I grew up on a mountain in the forest I have a unique perspective in my buying. Customers have been really excited so far. Currently I carry brands from Sweden, Australia, L.A, Denmark and Spain to name a few but all under that 100$ price point and mixed with great Vintage.

For those who know him best, they know right now as they are reading this where I am going to go next, yep ‘’CALGARY JON’’ the guy that has slept with your girlfriend and your sister, punched you in the face because you looked like Ted Nugent, and who owes you a beer because he threw yours into the ceiling fan at a down town karaoke bar 2 weeks ago.

One of my fav's would have to be a Sonic Youth 'goo' t-shirt that I found brand new at 'Giant Tiger', a store in Ontario- when I was 13. Giant Tiger is like a liquidation store and it turned me on to hunting for worthwhile things in strange places. I remember I also found some dead stock 'The Cult' t-shirts that same day.

Favorite vintage item, that's tough. Any jackets with old grommet zippers. Anything that came out of the chimney of an old country house. Any denim with a strap in the back. Souvenir jackets with skulls. 40's and 50's tshirts. Those kinds of things are hard to find but fun to look at in books.

Here at F as in Frank we are trying to raise funds for the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Cleanup. We'll be charging 50¢ for every plastic bag an all the proceeds will go towards an environmental organization [we're still researching the best organization for the funds to go to!].

May 19, Day 30 of a Gulf of Mexico oil spill that began with an explosion and fire April 20. Since then, oil has been pouring into the Gulf from a blown-out undersea well at a rate of at least 210,000 gallons per day.
Millions of gallons of crude are already in the water, however, and researchers said the black ooze may have entered a major current that could carry it through the Florida Keys and around to the East Coast.

"The fish are probably coming to the surface because they're dying from the oil," said Larry Schweiger, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. "Those gulls think they're getting a free meal when really they're getting a load of toxins."

That spill was only roughly 190,000 gallons—or less in total than the ongoing BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico has gushed every day since April 20. The lightest parts of the current catastrophe may soon wash ashore from Louisiana to Alabama, and the thicker stuff is just a few kilometers behind at this point. So how long will the damage from this oil spill last?

"If the [oil] mousse gets into the marshes, it can last a real long time," says environmental chemist Jeffrey Short of environmental group Oceana, who has studied the aftereffects of the Exxon Valdez spill. "Once there's no oxygen, it doesn't break down fast at all; it's a long-term toxic reservoir."

"The toxic compounds in oil vary, but largely fall in the group known to chemists as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), such as napthalenes, benzene, toluene and xylenes. All are known human carcinogens with other health effects for humans, animals and plants. "These hydrocarbons are particularly relevant if inhaled or ingested," says environmental toxicologist Ronald Kendall of Texas Tech University. "In the bodies of organisms such as mammals or birds, these aromatic hydrocarbons can be transformed into even more toxic products, which can affect DNA." In other words, the effects of the oil spill will linger in the genetics of Gulf coast animals long after the spill is gone, resulting in mutations that could lead to problems ranging from reduced fertility to cancer."

"Fire boat response crews battle the blazing remnants of the offshore oil rig Deepwater Horizon April 21, 2010, after an explosion that remains under investigation. A Coast Guard MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew document the fire aboard the mobile offshore drilling unit Deepwater Horizon. Multiple Coast Guard helicopters, planes and cutters responded to rescue the Deepwater Horizon's 126-person crew."

"Debris and oil from the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform float in the Gulf of Mexico after the rig sank April 22. The mobile offshore drilling platform had been engulfed in flames after the April 20 explosion."

They are taking great efforts to reduce the oil spill and contain the oil from spreading further. By using controlled fires, oil skimming and underwater robots to place a large containment dome over the well to halt the oil leakage and shut off valves the spill is being tended to but the spill has definitely not been contained, cleaned up or resolved.

Members Only is a brand of clothing that became popular in the 1980s for the "Members Only Jacket".

Members Only was renowned for their brand of jackets, which was first introduced in 1981 and manufactured in a wide variety of colors.

On 24 September 1980, Bonham was picked up by Led Zeppelin assistant Rex King to attend rehearsals at Bray Studios for an upcoming tour of the U.S.; the band's first since 1977. During the journey Bonham had asked to stop for breakfast, where he drank four quadruple vodkas (sixteen shots, amounting to about half of an imperial quart or 565 ml, approximately 2/3 of a "fifth" (of a U.S. gallon) of vodka). He then continued to drink heavily when he arrived at the rehearsals. A halt was called to the rehearsals late in the evening and the band retired to Page's house, The Old Mill House in Clewer, Windsor. After midnight on the 25th, Bonham had fallen asleep and was taken to bed and placed on his side. Benji LeFevre (who had replaced Richard Cole as Led Zeppelin's tour manager) and John Paul Jones found him dead the next afternoon.^[15] Bonham was 32 years old.
